MEET MASTER MACHTELD

We’d like to introduce you to Machteld, our new Senior Business Consultant! But who is Machteld really? What gets her excited, and what does she enjoy about working with Lean? Read all about it here.

Machteld lives with her husband, their two children and their dog. Sports and exercise are her way of recharging: CrossFit, running, strength training and the occasional kickboxing session are all part of her routine. She also enjoys going out for dinner, spending quality time with friends and getting creative, from (online) crafting to building LEGO with her children.

She loves holidays in France, especially in the southern Ardèche, where she can truly unwind. The words that describe Machteld best? Fast, pragmatic and strategic. And, secretly, incredibly creative too.

Machteld first discovered Lean while studying Business Administration. Her master’s thesis focused on process innovation for general practitioners. Since then, she has gained extensive experience with Scrum and Agile, and developed a sharp eye for how organisations can become truly agile.

What fascinates her? Real improvement starts with people. By making processes measurably better, together with the people involved, they take ownership of the change and responsibility for the results.

As she puts it: “Planning everything doesn’t help. You need to know whether things are actually getting better.”

At Masters In Lean, Machteld helps organisations become more agile and delivers Agile and Lean training. But Lean doesn’t stop at work: among her friends, she’s the ultimate planning queen, creating polls to keep plans and appointments organised. Because chaos? She really can’t stand it!

Machteld dreams of leading a large-scale SAFe or Lean implementation, from strategy to execution, while bringing management on board every step of the way. She combines strategy with action, Lean with creativity, and planning with fun. Her passion, energy and solution-oriented mindset make her a valuable addition to our team!
